I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil and writing since I learned how to spell. However, Ambition represents my second attempt to use both at once for non-prose story-telling. The first was the project that got me my degree at Marlboro College (B.A. in Literature and Linguistics).

Ending up in sequential art was pretty much an act of God. Up until my senior year of college, I'd been dutifully following my childhood dream of becoming a novelist. I was having difficulties with the creative writing department going on sabbatical, when I timidly took up one of my professor's suggestions to try making a manga for my Plan project. While I've got plenty of formal training for the art of fiction under my belt, I still don't have much in the way of visual arts...anything. So, I'm self-taught in that regard. Nevertheless, it stuck enough that I'm going pro.

So Ambition is not a side project for me. I devote most of my waking hours to it (and many of my sleeping ones, heh). Currently I am married (with my wonderful husband making the unemployment status possible) and living in Vermont with said husband and Luth'rai (I am sharing a bedroom with my husband, not Luth'rai). In my break times I play World of Warcraft, watch movies, read a variety of stuff, and work on Ambition. ...I need to stop working during my breaks.

I can't remember when I started drawing or when I started loving dragons (and sharks)- it's been that long. I graduated Marlboro College with high honors and a B.S. in Biology for designing the physiology and life history of a biologically believable dragon species. I went into college with the intent of coming out to study sharks for for a career, but ended up with dragons in my lap instead. I won't complain.

Originally, I was brought into Ambition to work on the dragons. Then to draw the dragons (and wildlife). Of course, some of my own characters worked their way into the story, and I volunteered to make fonts. Finally I took on drawing the backgrounds, and recently to flat-colour them as well. I've been trying to improve my skills as a background artist, because it's an area I've always been lacking in.

Currently, I live with Sly and her awesome husband, Vriaeliss. I work part time at the hospital and somehow manage to make all my bills on that income. Besides Ambition, my free time also accomodates my work as a lighting/sound technician and stage manager at a local theatre. I spend the rest of my time reading, drawing, playing games, researching whatever Ambition-related subject is currently on hand, working on dragon biology (I do that a lot) and attempting to expand my more side-lined interests of caving and juggling.
